Crocker English Mastiff's was founded by Andrew and Beth Crocker in July of 2005. Our breeding program is very new and will continue to grow until we have reached the maturity well needed as a breeding kennel. We are not quite a kennel yet but do plan to achieve that goal. Our history consists of purchasing our first English Mastiff now named Titus. Titus, all though a great pet, was not purchased as a breeding quality Mastiff. There are many things that we love about him as a pet, friend and guardian, but quickly realized that we wanted to contribute to the betterment of this breed and if we planned to breed the English Mastiff correctly, we would need to be highly concerned with more important things such as the AKC Standard that involves Soundness of Structure and Mentality! Therefore we reserched more reputable breeeders and a few months later we decided to purchase our second English Mastiff whom we named Cedra! Cedra has many qualities that we love as a pet as well but also as a futrure breeding bitch! Cedra does need some improvement and we will make sure that our decisions when breeding her will do everything to improve the lines of the future that our breeding program will produce! She will be the start of our voyage to become among the best of breeders of the highest qualities that make the English Mastiff what it was, is now and it shall be in the future!
Without ethics and guidelines such as these as a breeder, you are not giving this noble creature any respect that it, or ANY other animal deserves... One whom is considering being a breeder of the English Mastiff should take into the consideration the history of the animal and reserch the reason that this animal was bred for and that it is MOST important to produce not only a better animal than you currently have, but THE BEST that one can possibly breed. If one, as a breeder, starts off with poor qualities and poorly bred genes, then one should apply the ethics that they should have as a breeder and try to find the BEST quality of genes possible in a puppy being chosen for breeding purposes!!!
We of Crocker English Mastiff's feel that we have the ethics to become a more reputable breeder based soley off of the fact that we want Only the best results from our actions in every way shape and form! This alone is the mindset that one should have not only as a breeder but as a hobbiest of breeding. Holding breeding as a hobby will naturally make one more Passionate about the quality of time and work put into the hobby, producing a higher quality result due to the Love of the object being considered a hobby!!! And If one feels that breeding is a business then they could potentially do what is better for the business instead of what is better for the breed.

In late August of this year, after great consideration and reserch, we decided to breed our bitch Cedra to Banyon's Austin! This was an outcross of bloodlines but has really produced great results! On October 21st, Cedra gave birth to eight beautiful puppies... There were six dogs of which four were Fawn and two were Fawn Brindle. And there were also two bitches of which one was Fawn and the other was Fawn Brindle.
As of eight weeks of age the litter has grown to become a very nice blend of the two bloodlines bred. We chose the two bloodlilnes to breed because of the strong simularities between the two and the result was definitely an improvement from Cedra and also the start of consistency in our lines. Cedra has great over all structure including agulation in the front, chest width in the front and nice agulation in the rear but lacks in bone size, some head type and a firm topline (back) and a mild depth of chest issue. Banyon's Austin really came through and improve on the bone size that Cedra had to offer, even in the two bitches produced! Austin also gave the litter a bit better head type that we and the AKC standard desired, as well as his agualtion and Depth of Chest to imporove the proportioning of the legs to the chest bringing the litters height coming from depth of chest and not length of leg.... Also in the AKC Standard!
We are keeping two males out of the litter and they really are starting to show great potential in both dogs. One is a Brindle and the other is a fawn. Even though we planed on keeping a bitch and a dog, it worked out that these two guys were the best over all in structure and soundness with what AKC is looking for in an English Mastiff.
